The trailer of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is finally here! Astrid looks stunning in it. Can’t wait for the movie!
Walt Disney Pictures announced today that it’ll be giving Jack Sparrow fans quite the festive gift this holiday season: the first trailer for “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.”
The trailer will debut online at 1 p.m. PST (4 p.m. ET) on Monday, December 13, and will also run ahead of Disney’s “Tron: Legacy” when that 3-D flick hits theaters on Friday, December 17.
Teaser poster for La fille du puisatier and Pirates of the Caribbean 4 have been released. Also, the first production still of La fille du puisatier has been added to the gallery.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed today that the teaser trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is scheduled to hit theaters with TRON: Legacy on December 17. With both films being released in 3D and IMAX 3D, we assume the teaser will be shown in the format for those specific theaters and in 2D in conventional theaters.
As with most movie trailers these days, we expect that the “On Stranger Tides” teaser will be available online earlier that week and may debut on various TV entertainment programs as well.
Directed by Rob Marshall and hitting theaters on May 20, “On Stranger Tides” stars Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Penelope Cruz, Ian McShane, Kevin McNally, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Sam Claflin, Stephen Graham, Yuki Matsuzaki and Gemma Ward.
The synopsis includes a reference to the rumored Fountain of Youth MacGuffin, “In this action-packed tale of truth, betrayal, youth and demise, Captain Jack Sparrow crosses paths with a woman from his past (Penelope Cruz), and he’s not sure if it’s love–or if she’s a ruthless con artist who’s using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn’t know who to fear more: Blackbeard or the woman from his past.”
Returning actors include Geoffrey Rush as Captain Hector Barbossa and Kevin R. McNally as Joshamee Gibbs. New characters played by Sam Claflin and Astrid Berges-Frisbey include a stalwart missionary and mermaid, respectively.
Jerry Bruckheimer has announced via his Twitter account that Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides has started filming in Hawaii! The producer posted three photos from the set, including the front and back of the chairs the crew and cast members will sit in (that feature the film’s new logo, which hints at the fountain of youth storyline) as well as director Rob Marshall arriving to the set with a jet ski.
Opening in 3D and 2D theaters on May 20, the highly-anticipated film stars Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Penelope Cruz, Ian McShane, Kevin McNally, Stephen Graham, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Sam Claflin, Yuki Matsuzaki and Gemma Ward.
Walt Disney Pictures has announced that French actress Astrid Bergès-Frisbey has been personally picked by producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Rob Marshall to star in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides as Syrena, a beautiful and alluring young mermaid encountered by Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow.
A star of stage and screen in her native Paris, the 23-year-old actress born in Barcelona to French-American and Catalan parents has appeared in films such as Bruc and La Première Étoile as well as work on television and in a French production of Peter Shaffer’s “Equus.” To date, none of those films have made their way to the U.S. shores so that “On Stranger Tide” will more than likely be the actresses introduction not only to moviegoers in the United States, but much of the rest of the world as well.
Scheduled to start filming in Hawaii, Great Britain and Los Angeles in June for a May 20, 2011 release, the fourth installment is looking to build on the $2.7 billion made globally by the original trilogy.
