Tu as déjà commencé ?

Co-star Sam Claflin mentioned about Astrid
20 May, 2010 · Posted by under Interviews and Articles · No Comments

Sam Claflin, co-star of Astrid in Pirates of the Caribbean 4, mentioned about Astrid in his recent interview.

Obviously a very sociable character – “I like socialising, going round to friends houses, meeting in pubs” – Sam doesn’t seem too phased by getting to grips with the Pirates cast of Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz, “Of course I’ll be the new kid on the block, but I’ve been speaking to Astrid [Bergès-Frisbey] and she’s new as well so we’re in the same boat.”

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES Will be Shot in 3D
18 May, 2010 · Posted by under News · No Comments

Disney has decided to shoot Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in 3D. For the past few months, the studio had been debating whether or not to shoot in 3D or convert in post. Thankfully, they’ve made the smart decision and at least they can now try and justify asking audiences to pay more to see it.

No word on what cameras they’re using, but I’m sure with this being a Jerry Bruckheimer movie, it won’t be done on the cheap. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides gets released June 20, 2011 with Johnny Depp returning as Captain Jack Sparrow, Penelope Cruz will play Sparrow’s love interest, Ian McShane (Deadwood) is in talks to play Blackbeard, the villain of the movie, and Astrid Bergès-Frisbey has been cast in the “key role” of Syrena, a beautiful and alluring young mermaid. The film starts shooting next month on location in Hawaii, Great Britain and Los Angeles with Rob Marshall directing.

Five Things to Know About Johnny Depp’s New Pirates Costar
3 May, 2010 · Posted by under Interviews and Articles · No Comments

Meet the newest face to join the storied Pirates of the Caribbean franchise alongside Johnny Depp and fellow newcomer Penélope Cruz. The French beauty, 23, was cast by director Rob Marshall as the mermaid Syrena in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which begins shooting in June.

The face of French Connection’s 2010 spring line, Bergès-Frisbey (pronounced bear-je freez-bay) loves soccer, Facebook – and is one of France’s most alluring new stars.

Here, then, are five things to know about Pirates’s latest addition:

1. She has hometown pride:
Though she now lives in France, the Spanish-born beauty – her dad is Catalan and her mom is French-American – is an avid soccer junkie, who collects a ton of her native FC Barcelona gear.

2. Acting wasn’t her first career choice:
With aspirations of becoming an osteopathic physician, the Pirates newbie actually studied science in school. According to some reports, shortly after her father died, the would-be doctor switched gears, enrolling in France’s Cours Simon drama school instead.

3. She’s had some big roles before:
In 2008, she wowed French TV audiences on the mini-series She and I, alongside screen legend Danielle Darrieux. The same year, she shot her first feature film, A Bridge Against the Pacific, in Cambodia opposite the French actor Gaspard Ulliel.

4. She’s a Penélope fan:
Though she’s been cast alongside Johnny Depp, Bergès-Frisbey might actually be more excited to work with Penélope Cruz: In a 2008 Italian TV interview, the young actress cited her future costar’s 2004 film Don’t Move as one of her favorites.

5. She’s a world traveler:
With Pirates shooting planned for Hawaii, Great Britain and Los Angeles, the international actress should feel right at home. She was born in Barcelona, raised in Paris and spent four months shooting her first feature film in Cambodia.

Astrid Bergès-Frisbey Picked for Pirates of the Caribbean
22 April, 2010 · Posted by under News, Pirates of the Caribbean 4 · No Comments

Walt Disney Pictures has announced that French actress Astrid Bergès-Frisbey has been personally picked by producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Rob Marshall to star in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides as Syrena, a beautiful and alluring young mermaid encountered by Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow.

A star of stage and screen in her native Paris, the 23-year-old actress born in Barcelona to French-American and Catalan parents has appeared in films such as Bruc and La Première Étoile as well as work on television and in a French production of Peter Shaffer’s “Equus.” To date, none of those films have made their way to the U.S. shores so that “On Stranger Tide” will more than likely be the actresses introduction not only to moviegoers in the United States, but much of the rest of the world as well.

Scheduled to start filming in Hawaii, Great Britain and Los Angeles in June for a May 20, 2011 release, the fourth installment is looking to build on the $2.7 billion made globally by the original trilogy.
